I am an observational physical oceanographer. I develop instruments, make measurements at sea, and analyze data. I have also worked on theory although I believe the best way to learn about the ocean is to observe it. Topics of interest to me are the physical processes of the upper ocean including fronts and air-sea interaction, and abyssal circulation.
